The principal face features a beautifully sculpted interpretation of Una and the Lion, inspired by the celebrated literary story from Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene.

Una is depicted in profile, gently embracing the lion's head and resting her hands against its flowing mane. The powerful lion turns towards her, creating a tender portrayal of loyalty, trust and protection.

Intricate relief detailing defines Una's hair and clothing, the lion's magnificent mane and the surrounding natural scenery.

The background incorporates decorative floral and patterned elements, giving the composition a refined appearance inspired by traditional numismatic artwork.

The opposite face features an ornate decorative pattern together with the Latin inscription “DIRIGIT DEUS GRESSUS MEOS”, commonly translated in descriptions of the design as “May God direct my steps”.
