Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with this distinctive 2024 Yellow Dragon Coin from The Perth Mint’s Australian Lunar Series III. Struck from one-half troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, this selectively coloured Brilliant Uncirculated release is Australian legal tender with a denomination of 50 cents and has a maximum mintage of 200,000 coins.
Designed by Ing Ing Jong, the reverse features a vibrant yellow Chinese dragon alongside a flaming Pearl of Wisdom. The artwork is completed by the Chinese character for dragon, the inscription “DRAGON 2024” and the special P125 mintmark commemorating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The obverse carries Jody Clark’s Memorial Obverse of Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by the years of her reign, the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination.
Measuring 32.60mm in diameter, the coin is supplied inside an individual protective acrylic capsule. Its fractional silver weight, distinctive yellow colourisation and anniversary mintmark make it an attractive addition to Australian lunar, coloured bullion and Year of the Dragon collections.
