Celebrate the eighth animal of the Chinese lunar calendar with the 2027 Australian Lunar Series III Year of the Goat Coin. Struck by The Perth Mint from one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated release is Australian legal tender with a face value of one dollar and has a maximum mintage of 300,000 coins.
Designed by Natasha Muhl, the reverse portrays a mature goat, a young goat and a baby goat grazing peacefully beneath a plum blossom tree. Inspired by the auspicious phrase “Three Goats Bring Bliss”, the scene represents the end of winter, the arrival of spring, renewal and prosperous new beginnings. The design also incorporates the Chinese character for goat, the inscription “GOAT 2027”, The Perth Mint’s traditional P mintmark and a concealed micro-engraved security letter.
The obverse carries Dan Thorne’s effigy of King Charles III together with the coin’s weight, purity and monetary denomination. Measuring 40.90mm in diameter, the coin is supplied inside a protective acrylic capsule and offers an appealing combination of precious-metal content, traditional lunar symbolism and the renowned craftsmanship of The Perth Mint.
