**Obverse – Bored Ape Yacht Club #6998**

The obverse features a detailed engraved interpretation of Bored Ape #6998, an individual character from Yuga Labs' celebrated Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection.

The cartoon ape is presented wearing a distinctive beanie-style hat and a necklace, with the characteristic unimpressed facial expression that helped establish the unusual personality of the original digital artwork.

The design captures the deliberately relaxed, world-weary attitude associated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club concept.

Fine engraved lines recreate the character's textured fur, facial features, clothing and accessories, transforming imagery originally associated with digital artwork into a physical precious metal design.

Behind the central character is an intricate pattern of repeating banana motifs.

These playful decorative elements reflect the humorous visual identity of the original Bored Ape collection and provide an unusual alternative to the heraldic designs, national emblems and geometric backgrounds commonly found on traditional silver bullion.

The contrast between the character's prominent portrait and the patterned background creates a distinctive composition, celebrating digital-era cartoon illustration through conventional silver minting techniques.

**Reverse – GOLD AVENUE Exclusive Design**

The reverse continues the ape-inspired theme through a repeating arrangement of bananas and GOLD AVENUE emblems.

The scattered pattern creates a distinctive branded background that reflects the playful appearance of the obverse.

The GOLD AVENUE logos identify the retailer responsible for the exclusive release, distinguishing this round from conventional 9Fine Mint silver products.

At the bottom of the design appears the inscription "1 oz .999 FINE AG", confirming the round's precious metal content.

The abbreviation "AG" is the chemical symbol for silver, originating from the Latin word *argentum*.

Unlike government-issued silver coins, the reverse does not display a monarch, national coat of arms, monetary denomination or other legal-tender imagery.

The two complementary designs celebrate the connection between blockchain-based digital art, modern collectibles and genuine physical silver.

**Bored Ape Yacht Club™ – The Origins of a Digital Art Phenomenon**

The Bored Ape Yacht Club, commonly abbreviated BAYC, was created by Yuga Labs and launched in April 2021.

The project emerged during a period of rapid growth in digital collecting and blockchain technology, when non-fungible tokens, commonly known as NFTs, were beginning to attract international attention.

Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies, whose individual units are generally interchangeable, an NFT provides a distinct digital identifier recorded on a blockchain.

The original Bored Ape Yacht Club collection comprised 10,000 cartoon ape characters, each associated with a separately identifiable NFT on the Ethereum blockchain.

**23 April 2021 – The Original Launch**

According to Yuga Labs' own account, the concept began with four friends discussing the creation of an unusual NFT collection.

The founders imagined a fictional yacht club for cryptocurrency traders who had achieved extraordinary financial success but had somehow become bored with their newfound wealth.

This humorous idea provided the inspiration for a collection of cartoon apes wearing eccentric clothing and accessories, each displaying a deliberately unimpressed expression.

The project launched on 23 April 2021, offering the original NFTs for 0.08 Ethereum each.

Following a relatively slow initial period, the remaining collection sold out on 1 May 2021.

The project's unexpected success helped establish Bored Ape Yacht Club as one of the most recognisable names in digital collecting.

**The Artists Behind the Bored Apes**

Although the individual apes were assembled using combinations of visual traits, the artwork originated with human illustrators.

Yuga Labs credits All Seeing Seneca with important early character-design work.

Additional contributing artists developed expressions, clothing, accessories and other characteristics that would eventually form the distinctive visual identity of the collection.

The resulting illustrations combined cartoon humour, unusual fashion choices and deliberately exaggerated expressions.

Each character received an individual number, while combinations of different visual traits allowed collectors to distinguish one ape from another.

**Bored Ape #6998**

This silver round celebrates Bored Ape #6998, one of the individually numbered characters from the original collection.

The character is depicted wearing a beanie hat and necklace, with a recognisable relaxed expression.

GOLD AVENUE selected this artwork for its exclusive precious metal release, creating a physical interpretation of a character originally associated with blockchain-based digital collecting.

The number #6998 identifies the source character rather than the production number of an individual silver round.

**The Growth of the Bored Ape Universe**

During 2021 and 2022, Bored Ape Yacht Club attracted considerable attention from artists, technology enthusiasts, celebrities and cryptocurrency collectors.

The project's combination of digital artwork, online membership and community-driven activities helped distinguish it from earlier forms of digital collecting.

Yuga Labs expanded its creative universe through additional projects, including the Bored Ape Kennel Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club.

The company subsequently announced Otherside, a wider virtual-world project intended to build on the community and characters associated with the original NFT collection.

Bored Ape Yacht Club became an important symbol of the rapidly developing relationship between digital artwork, online communities and blockchain technology.

**From Blockchain Art to Physical Precious Metals**

Although the original Bored Apes exist as blockchain-linked digital collectibles, the collection's recognisable artwork has also inspired physical merchandise and limited-edition products.

GOLD AVENUE's Bored Ape silver round represents an unusual development in this relationship.

Rather than creating another digital token, the retailer commissioned a traditional precious metal collectible featuring the image of Bored Ape #6998.

The result combines imagery associated with the emerging digital economy and the long-established appeal of physical silver ownership.

The design allows enthusiasts to enjoy a tangible representation of Bored Ape artwork without requiring a cryptocurrency wallet or ownership of the original NFT.

**The Limited 1,000-Round Release**

The GOLD AVENUE Bored Ape Yacht Club round was produced with a confirmed maximum worldwide mintage of 1,000 pieces.

Each contains one full troy ounce of .999 fine silver and features the same distinctive Bored Ape #6998 design.

The limited physical mintage is entirely separate from the original collection of 10,000 digital NFTs.

Purchasing the silver round does not confer digital ownership, access to NFT membership benefits or rights in the underlying blockchain asset.

Its appeal comes from its precious metal content, artwork, limited production and cultural connection to the early development of NFT collecting.
