The Eleventh and Final Queen’s Beasts Design

The Queen’s Beasts bullion collection began in 2016 with the Lion of England and continued through ten individual heraldic creatures representing the ancestry of Queen Elizabeth II.

Released in 2021, the Completer Coin became the eleventh and final design in the collection. Rather than focusing on one creature, it brings all ten Queen’s Beasts together around a central portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

These creatures were inspired by the ten statues that stood outside Westminster Abbey for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Each beast carries a shield or emblem representing a different part of the Queen’s royal ancestry.

Jody Clark’s Completer Design

Created by acclaimed Royal Mint artist Jody Clark, the reverse arranges the ten beasts in a balanced protective circle around a central portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

The highly detailed creatures are accompanied by the inscription “THE QUEEN’S BEASTS” and the year “2021”. A distinctive chain-mail-inspired background texture adds depth and visual contrast to the intricate design.

This is the only bullion coin in the original collection to display all ten Queen’s Beasts together.

The obverse also features Jody Clark’s definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
